Phase 2: Sunday School Begins September 13th

After a long hiatus, we are excited to restart our Sunday School on September 13th at 9:30 am! Upon hearing back from many church members, each class will be represented and have people that feel comfortable participating in Sunday School at this time.

For the time being, we are requiring all teachers and students beginning with the 3 years – Pre K class to wear some type of face covering while in class. Extra grace will be given to the 3-Pre K class as they may not always cooperate in wearing a mask. While I understand there are many different opinions on masks, our leadership team feels this policy needs to be in place. This was also overwhelmingly affirmed by those who said they were willing to wear a mask when replying to the email our Sunday School director sent out a couple of weeks ago. We would rather make an error on the side of caution now rather than have regrets that we did not do enough later.

The bathrooms will be available to use during Sunday School and the worship service. We are asking the children’s Sunday School teachers to only allow the students to go in one at a time and to make sure they have properly washed their hands after. Each bathroom will be equipped with Lysol wipes if needed and each classroom will also be equipped with wipes and hand sanitizer.

Our guidelines for the worship service at 10:45 remain the same. You are welcome to remove your mask when you get settled into your seat. We ask you to put your mask on when you are up walking around and visiting with others. In addition, there still will be no childcare available during the worship service at this time. We hope to provide this soon, but for now you are welcome to bring your children into the worship service.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the church office.

Mask Use: Beginning Sunday August 9, 2020

As we have seen Covid cases on the rise in our community, we want to add an extra layer of precaution for our church family.

Beginning August 9th, we are asking every person age 10 and older to wear a mask as you enter the building and get settled into your seat. Once you are in your seat, you are free to remove it during the worship service. Once the service is over, we ask that you put your mask back on until you leave the building. We have masks available if you need one. We will continue to follow our Phase 1 plans (scroll down) for the rest of August and hope to move to Phase 2 in September.

If you have any questions, please call the church office at (636) 724-3036.

Phase 1: Beginning May 31, 2020

We are going to re-open the church on Sunday, May 31st! It’s been over two months since we’ve been able to gather together to worship our Lord. National, state and local leaders have indicated that we can begin to return to activities which include work, social interaction, and worship. To that end, I, our Deacons, Andrew Scott and Allison Boyd (a registered nurse who cares for Covid patients) have devised a plan to return to worship beginning on May 31st. This is only phase 1 among 3 that we will eventually follow.

The church will be sanitized thoroughly before worship.

The building will not be open until 10:30 am.

Individuals who are in high risk populations or immune compromised are encouraged to remain home.

If you are feeling sick, please stay home.

There will be new seating in the sanctuary. Families will be allowed to sit together but will be spaced at least 6ft. apart. (Children will need to sit with their families).

Face masks are encouraged but not mandated. We have extra face masks available if you need one.

There will be no handshakes or hugs.

Special music will be paused for now.

For the “celebrating our wins” time, please email your wins to the pastor in advance and he will share them with everyone on Sunday morning during worship.

No Sunday school or nursery will be offered at church for now.

No paper bulletins will be handed out.

Deacons will open doors to avoid hand contact with surfaces.

Hand sanitizing stations with tissue will be available throughout the sanctuary.

Restroom use will only be for emergency situations and must be sanitized after each use.

The water fountain is off-limits. You are welcome to bring a water bottle.

Lord’s Supper will be paused.

Passing of the offering plates will be paused. You may drop your offering in the plate on your way in or out of the church. You may continue to send your offering in the mail or use online billing.

Visiting before and after worship is encouraged but should be done with social distancing. Prolonged visiting should be done outside.

Live streaming our worship service will continue for those who are unable or who feel uncomfortable attending worship at this time. We will continue to send out CD’s of the worship service to those who are not able to watch online.

Families will be dismissed one at a time to avoid unintended contact with others.

Fellowship meals are paused.

All committee meetings will meet via video conferencing.

Wednesday night Bible Study and Prayer will continue with live streaming only for now.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email or telephone. We are looking forward to the 31st! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
