Church Reopening

Updated May 20, 2020

Phase 1: Beginning May 31, 2020

We are going to re-open the church on Sunday, May 31st! It’s been over two months since we’ve been able to gather together to worship our Lord. National, state and local leaders have indicated that we can begin to return to activities which include work, social interaction, and worship. To that end, I, our Deacons, Andrew Scott and Allison Boyd (a registered nurse who cares for Covid patients) have devised a plan to return to worship beginning on May 31st. This is only phase 1 among 3 that we will eventually follow.

The church will be sanitized thoroughly before worship.

The building will not be open until 10:30 am.

Individuals who are in high risk populations or immune compromised are encouraged to remain home.

If you are feeling sick, please stay home.

There will be new seating in the sanctuary. Families will be allowed to sit together but will be spaced at least 6ft. apart. (Children will need to sit with their families).

Face masks are encouraged but not mandated. We have extra face masks available if you need one.

There will be no handshakes or hugs.

Special music will be paused for now.

For the “celebrating our wins” time, please email your wins to the pastor in advance and he will share them with everyone on Sunday morning during worship.

No Sunday school or nursery will be offered at church for now.

No paper bulletins will be handed out.

Deacons will open doors to avoid hand contact with surfaces.

Hand sanitizing stations with tissue will be available throughout the sanctuary.

Restroom use will only be for emergency situations and must be sanitized after each use.

The water fountain is off-limits. You are welcome to bring a water bottle.

Lord’s Supper will be paused.

Passing of the offering plates will be paused. You may drop your offering in the plate on your way in or out of the church. You may continue to send your offering in the mail or use online billing.

Visiting before and after worship is encouraged but should be done with social distancing. Prolonged visiting should be done outside.

Live streaming our worship service will continue for those who are unable or who feel uncomfortable attending worship at this time. We will continue to send out CD’s of the worship service to those who are not able to watch online.

Families will be dismissed one at a time to avoid unintended contact with others.

Fellowship meals are paused.

All committee meetings will meet via video conferencing.

Wednesday night Bible Study and Prayer will continue with live streaming only for now.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email or telephone. We are looking forward to the 31st! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
